Moments that last a lifetime

Little boy, you melt my heart. Completely.

I love to find you in your crib in the morning, kicking with all your might, as you watch your mobile wiggle from your activity. You act like you are watching shooting stars!

I love the look you give me every single time I catch your eye.

Yep, that one.

There is a sparkle in your eye for those you love that touches me to the deepest parts of my being and I love being your Mommy.

I love the way you grab my arm and try to eat it when I am changing your diaper.

I love how you open wide just like a little bird when you are hungry. And boy can you put down some food!

I love how you kick your feet every single time you are excited. Whether it is getting a "hello" and a smile from a stranger, or seeing a fun toy, or seeing one of your siblings round the corner. You kick like your life depends on it.

I love you how reach for my face when I am feeding you and pull away often to gaze into my eyes.

I love how you squeeze and explore the folds of my neck and my collarbone when I rock you at night.

I love how you look at Conner with such eager excitement, how you wait in anticipation for each word or action coming from him.

And I love how you study Alaina's face with such seriousness as she talks away, only to break out in the biggest grin ever when she pauses to make a funny face at you.

I love you how you look so adoringly at your Daddy when he walk in from work (as you buck and kick in excitement).

I love to watch how content you are to sit and observe, taking in this big world.

I love to see how you are already showing an extroverted side, gaining excitement (and kicking!), grunting in desire, to interact with other children and babies.

I wonder how in the world I was chosen to be blessed by your presence everyday and I cannot imagine my life without you.

You light up my world, you fill my days and you have my heart.

I will just enjoy it since I know that one day not far off, you will begin to tantrum, throw things, hit, bite and disobey. You will develop your own will that you will test against our parenting and you will talk back, be selfish and annoy your siblings.

So yes, I will enjoy for now, that you go with the flow, you are laid back and easy going, all you want from your family is interaction and love.

I promise that even as your grow and change, I will bare with you in love, I just ask that you bare with me as well.

I love you Zane David and what is amazing is that God loves you even more.
